DSBS have been involved with a number of Not-For-Profit organisations over the past 10 years, mainly in a consultative capacity delivering large and small business cases in Strategic planning, IT Strategy, Infrastructure Merge Planning, Intranet Development to Supplier and Vendor Selection, and Shared Services.
DSBS have also successfully helped some of these organisations to gain funding from Lotterywest for ICT work required by addressing key business needs and objectives with in-depth planning, implementation, requirement for staff training if required and information about ongoing management.
DSBS have also been involved with a national large scale not-for-profit health service provider to review and redevelop a single client management system capable of doing State and Federal client deliveries. Its aim was to consolidate nine separate organisations using multiple client management systems to service federally funded health service delivery outcomes, to improve efficiencies and quality of delivery and reporting to the Department. DSBS successfully identified and implemented suitable infrastructure and service providers for the new client management system, which also incorporated requirements for future service delivery.
Australia’s not-for-profit sector is large and diverse, and are in the midst of change with the introduction of new reporting obligations with Government regulation and policy changes; the growing importance of strengthening of partnerships between business and Not-for-profits; the available funding capital from Local and Federal Government for Not-for-profits; and competition with the development of social enterprises and cooperatives/mutuals delivering public services.
DSBS are in a fortunate position to help and support these organisations with these changes; to develop and deliver an IT strategy approach to manage the changing technology and governance that is required to take these organisations forward, allowing them to focus on providing the necessary services required to the community.
