Early 2015, DSBS became involved in placing people in a government health department because of its change in adopting a single web-based IT platform to manage its clinical training activity through the procurement of a Clinical Placement Management System (CPMS).
The CPMS will create an efficient marketplace in which clinical placements will be advertised, increasing knowledge of availability and choice amongst students and coordinators. As a workspace it will enable participating Health Service Providers and Education Service Providers to efficiently match students to placements, reducing wastage and transaction costs. This will allow Health staff at all levels to comprehensively document and administer clinical placement activity.
DSBS involvement at the stage 1 level as the supplier is following an agile development approach to deliver requirements in epics, managed in Atlassian Jira to form the basis of the project plan to reach a “Proof of Concept” stage to identify the feasibility of desired outcomes, and to build a business case that is at the required level of business intelligence, to enable strategic planning and management of this activity.
DSBS were able to place the right kind of people needed to support this evolutional change within the department, bringing about a more coherent relationship between Health Service Providers and Education Service Providers.
For DSBS this is an exciting area to be working in and helps to expand the company’s knowledge base and experience for its employees.
